AB 362 – Assembly Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee

Tribal Beneficial Use of Water

Tribal communities in California have been harmed by California's outdated water system, which causes persistent challenges for subsistence, cultural usage, and health of keystone species in their traditional waters. This bill would have established Tribal Beneficial Uses (TBUs) into statewide water quality laws and directed the State and Regional Water Boards to implement Tribal consultation and co-management of California’s waterways.
