AB 39 – Senate Energy, Utilities and Communications

Local Electrification Planning Act

AB 39 would require California cities and counties with over 75,000 residents to create and adopt plans to meet their electrification goals, expanding electric vehicle charging access and home retrofits. It will ensure equity for low-income communities, renters, and those without off-street parking—advancing a clean, just energy future for all.
